The Post Amphora Chair is a seating option, designed and constructed through the natural shape of a wine barrel. The type of barrels being used are the ones that have been left to age beautifully, adapting the natural colours of their outside environment while staining the inside with the lovely rosy texture left behind from Merlot and Shiraz varieties. While natural oak acts as the perfect hardwood to accept all knocks and pressures of wear and tear and when coupled with the already existing curve is surprisingly versatile and resilient.

The end result is something that is elegant and when coupled with the small, four legged whiskey (Amphora Table) constructed from the top barrel with recycled legs, can fit in an inside or outside environment.

The original barrel is an old piece that had been used by my family for its intended purpose but more recently as a garden accessory. As the cruel September season of hard rubbish approached as did my willingness to create something out of this weathered artifact of my past.

Santa Ana Couch is a piece of furniture designed to display humour and irony through the traditional characteristics of a wing-back chair, combined with the unexpected and unconventional upholstery material - artificial grass.

The chair itself has been intentionally unaltered so as to maintain its iconic form, and thus highlight the contrast created by the unusual use of grass as an upholstery material.

The chair was found in ‘hard rubbish’ and has been restored where necessary, using original and found components and upholstered entirely from waste off-cuts of artificial grass, creating an entirely recycled piece of furniture.

I love the way this lamp was born… It is the result of an interesting experience.
Before starting my associateship with the JamFactory in Adelaide I was living in Sydney, sharing the house with my girlfriend and some friends. That place was tiny and great. Personally, I prefer beautiful tiny places, rather than big houses. Everything in that house had a place, not too much, not too empty, except for a little problem: The rubbish bin was pretty small for all of us…

Few weeks after being sneaking and throwing our garbage into the bins nearby when ours was already full, I decided to be more conscious about what we were putting into our bin, finding that more than a half of the overall space occupied was just… air!

Empty bottles, empty cans…. Too much space completely wasted! So I started to cut the plastic milk bottles in halves to stack them and save some room in the bin, finding by surprise a beautiful pattern once the cut bottles are together. And then I asked myself: what if I put a light inside?... Since that day I told my roommates to do not throw away any milk bottle. So far I have sold a few of them… and every time I look at them, it makes more sense to me… That’s conscious design.

The inspiration for my furniture piece initially came from noticing an all too common occurrence of the old rear projection style TV thrown to the sidewalk, alongside a gigantic box for a bigger, flatter TV. Secondly, my inspiration comes from the humble cardboard box – the material that brought the precious flat-screen TV to people’s homes in the first place.

Working with a high-end furniture company importing from Germany, I have rescued from the skips, the industrial strength cardboard boxes used for transportation of the (somewhat over-packaged) furniture. These are boxes you could just about live in.

My “TV Box” is constructed using techniques of a traditional furniture craftsman, including dovetail joints and mitred corners. This, as well as the lamination of several layers of cardboard, will help to ensure the longevity of the product. The raw material is left visible, to show an appreciation for the chosen material.

Inhabit (With leftovers) is a series of vessels centering around objects which can be used as everyday, functional pieces which are made to hold things in, including a pot-plant holder, candle holder, vase and a pencil holder. They are made from polyethylene terephthalate bottles (PET) which are easily accessible and in bountiful supply.

By highlighting the materials longevity and wastefulness in our environment, I wanted to promote the other possibilities for these bottles after their original purpose had been used.

Speakerphone |spēkərfōn| proper noun: A sound dock for Apple iPhone & iPod Touch, created from repurposed Retro phone handsets.

Speakerphone utilises passive amplification, such as that found in Gramophones and Horn instruments, to amplify the sound produced by the iPhone/iPod inbuilt speaker. Portable and lightweight, Speakerphone does not impact on the iPhone/iPod’s battery life as it operates without additional electronics.

Speakerphone repurposes surplus Retro handsets and discarded Queensland Maple plywood to create the sound docks. The sound holes are hand drilled and the iPhone/iPod slot is hand milled. The Queensland Maple Plywood stand is laser cut and sealed with satin lacquer. The stand and handset are joined using brass Chicago screws which help raise the iPhone/iPod internally to increase the volume.

A limited run of 10 Speakerphone’s have been created for Hard Treasure, and are available for sale at a special exhibition price. Please contact for more information.
